The hard drive on my IBM Thinkpad T-42 failed, and as one would expect, it failed at a critical time (a weekend, no tech support, project due Monday). I simply slid in a new hard drive and rebooted with the CD-ROM in the CD drive and the Backup Box plugged in.
It took my lunch period, but when it was done, it was as though nothing had happened. Everything came back exactly as it was except for one word file that I was editing.
It would be useful to emphasize to other users that I am not a computer expert; that I never did more than plug in the box and put a CD in its drive.
Everything else was automatic. It's fine to share this [my comments] with others, as folks who are not computer savvy could really find this box useful.
